Jewel Tone Inspiration Shoot from Chelsea Scanlan + Bon Wed

There's no denying it -- pastels have had a major year in the wedding world. And as much as I heart those muted hues, I think I love jewel tones EVEN more. Lucky for us, Bon Wed and Chelsea Scanlan have taken out all the legwork and showed us just how stunning these richer colors can be.  So let's just cut the chitty chat, because I'm declaring an impromptu pinning party starting...NOW!

From Bon Wed... Being raised in San Diego as a fourth generation San Diegan, the historical Balboa Park Carousel was easily a fun memory of my childhood. The carousel's rich history and beautiful preserved details have captured the hearts of many, as well as my own. I enjoyed taking this historical landmark of San Diego and translating its beauty into a wonderful wedding full of character and love. Chelsea Scanlan Photography combined with Bon Wed was an awesome team for this shoot! Time to enjoy the ride!

As I would ride the carousel with my mother, she would teach me to reach out in hopes of grabbing the brass ring to win an extra ride! With such a historical and romantic spot, we were full of inspiration from this majestic carousel. We took the gorgeous jewel tones the carousel provided and brought them into our table decor. Emerald, golden yellow, ruby red, blues, and bits of gold all made it easy to create something deep and beautiful on the bridal table. The florals by Jacqueline Francis of Rosy & Impatiens captured the colors and essence of the carousel perfectly in the most stunning arrangements.

Paper elements and stationary created by Jane Riley amplified our glamorous yet modern style with beautiful sayings like "Take the ring and enjoy the ride" playing off of the carousel's brass ring challenge and bringing it into the wedding day.

"Enjoy the sweet ride" sat at our cake table with tickets all around-- celebrating the beautiful ride of love and life!

Our bride looked amazing in a gorgeous gown by Grace Loves Lace who specializes in unique and bohemian dresses. We knew that this dress would be a beautiful addition to this romantic shoot but also allowing the bride to have fun on the carousel while keeping her glamorous look.

"Olive you!" sat at our olive bar full of delicious olives sitting in bread bowls. A fun idea to offset the sweets with a little salty!

It was wonderful to take such a gorgeous part of Balboa Park and transform it into a sophisticated and enchanting wedding inspiration! It was a pleasure to work with Chelsea Scanlan Photography who captured our vision perfectly. And a gracious thank you to our beautiful models, Kayslee and Blake!"
